What backers should know.
Can I use a figure or toy I already own?+
Yes. Bind one of the included Genie Tags to a collectible, choose or create a private Genie identity in the app, then place it on LampGenie. The launch experience does not promise automatic camera recognition or an official character profile for every franchise.
What does “Story It” mean?+
It means giving the moment a personality, scene, challenge or adventure. The three original Genies include designed story moments; tagged collectibles support fan-directed, private improvised scenes shaped by your imagination.
What happens on the Lamp, and what happens in the app?+
The Lamp is the stage: placement, character light, voice and conversation happen there. The app handles setup, Wi-Fi, Genie and Tag binding, story summaries, approved memories, privacy controls, voice-minute balance and device status.
Does LampGenie include licensed anime characters or official voices?+
The launch package includes three original Genies. Personal Fan Play lets you privately assign an identity to a collectible you own, but LampGenie does not provide unlicensed official characters, copied scripts, actor voice clones or public franchise packages. Licensed worlds may come later through signed partners.
How are listening, memory and privacy handled?+
LampGenie is designed for intentional conversations—not continuous or always-on recording. In the app, users can manage microphone and conversation settings and review or delete approved memories.
What are the IP boundaries for personal fan play?+
LampGenie does not provide copied official scripts, exact actor voice cloning or a public marketplace of unlicensed character profiles. Personal Fan Play is private and user-directed; official characters and shareable franchise experiences require licensed partnerships.
How much voice play is included?+
The planned launch package includes 60 voice minutes per month for the first six months, then 10 minutes per month under Lifetime Basic. Additional voice-play options will be announced before launch.
